Evelyn

Evelyn Recinos Contreras has been our Spanish legal and technical translator, writer, and editor for 6 years. She is a Guatemalan attorney and writer, with extensive experience translating legal and technical material. She worked for several years on a translation project in transitional justice cases for Open Society Foundation. Evelyn has combined her legal work with writing, translating, and editing.

In recent years she has been focusing on writing, translating, and editing, working for companies like Amira Learning, GreatSchools, Plaza Pública, and Ocote, among others.

Evelyn’s education, studies and certifications include a Master of Laws from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, a PhD in Criminal Justice from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Gender Studies Certification from the Dutch organization NUFFIC, Creative writing, and Spanish grammar for copy editors.
